Transformer calculations
We carry out detail calculations of each transformer which we design or check.
The calculations can be split on the next groups.
- Calculation of windings impedance;
- Calculation of I2R, circulating and eddy losses in windings;
- Core loss calculation;
- Calculation of short circuit currents at different modes and different tap positions with taking into account zero sequence impedance value;
- Calculation of stray losses in structural parts of a transformer as Frames, Flitch plates, in Last packets of a core and in a Tank;
- Noise level calculation.
- Calculation of impulse stresses and safety margins between all disks of all windings at Lighting Impulse and Chopped Impulse tests;
- Turn insulation calculation;
- Major insulation calculation: Calculation of safety margins between winding and grounding parts of a transformer, between leads and grounding parts of a transformer or between bushing and grounding parts of a transformer;
- Calculation of creepage stress along insulation details attached to the high voltage windings;
- Winding thermal calculation: calculation of winding gradients and temperature rises and location of hot spots;
- Core thermal calculation;
- Thermal calculation of cooling system;
- Thermal calculation of structural parts, last packets, tank due to stray losses;
- Hydraulic calculation.
- Calculation of electrodynamic stability of the windings at short circuit and pressing modes;
- Mechanical calculation of the pressing ring at short circuit and pressing modes;
- Mechanical calculation of the top and bottom yoke beams at short circuit and pressing modes;
- Mechanical calculation of the tank at vacuum, transportation, lifting modes;
- Seismic calculation.
